A letter for the healing you

Dear friends,
If you’re reading this feeling tired, distraught, or lonely, I want you to know: you’re not alone.
Healing isn’t a straight line. It’s not neat or linear or always visible from the outside. It’s breath by breath. Choice by choice. Day by day.
And if today you feel like you’re behind, like you should’ve moved on or bounced back by now — I just want to encourage you to consider this: maybe what you need isn’t to move on, but to move inward. To remember that healing isn’t about perfection. It’s about presence. And grace.
What I Wish Someone Told Me
When I was navigating one of the most painful chapters of my life — after my father passed, after the relationship ended, after the stillness swallowed me — I kept wondering: When will I feel better again?
But I was asking the wrong question.
Feeling better wasn’t waiting for me on the other side of healing. It was inside the healing. It was in the moments I chose to love and forgive myself anyway… even when it was diffcult. Even when I didn’t have it all figured out.
And if you’re in a place like that right now, this next part is for you.
A Practice to Anchor You
Here’s what I invite you to try today:
Write a letter from the powerful, healed you in future to your present self. It doesn’t have to be long. Just a few lines.
Let the powerful “future you” who made it through the difficult moments speak directly to the “you” who’s still in it. What would they say? What would they remind you of? What gentle truth would they offer?
Even just one sentence can shift your state.
You are already becoming the version of you that you’re longing to be. Not in spite of the pain — but through it.
Blessings,
Ryan Justin Jackson
