Beyond the Body, There is Light

Dear Friends,
I was having a conversation with someone the other day about the body — how much energy we place on it. Whether it’s because it’s sick or strong, aging or changing, seen as beautiful or not enough… the body holds so much of our attention.
We live in a time when there’s so much energy around how we look — from skincare routines to surgery, filters to fillers, fitness goals to hair transplants. And none of that is inherently wrong. But what is worth asking ourselves — as A Course in Miracles invites — is this simple question: What for?
Are we doing these things from a place of love… or from fear? Are we trying to express ourselves… or trying to fix ourselves?
That question came up for me recently. I used to have a full head of hair. These days, I don’t. And some days, it still catches me — that whisper of insecurity, the old mental loop: “Am I less attractive? Less desirable?”
But every time it arises, it invites me to return to the light. Not the spotlight. Not the ring light. The light beyond the body.
We are not these passing forms. We are not skin and bone, pigment and posture, curls or crowns. We are Spirit. Energy. The eternal. And all of this — every wrinkle, every scar, every gray hair — is simply a reminder to look beyond and to remember the truth of who we really are.
So if your body is sick…
If your body is aging…
If your body feels unfamiliar to you in any way…
Let it be a holy invitation.
To see the light within.
To feel the presence that never fades.
To remember: You are more than this body. And you always have been.
Blessings,
Ryan Justin Jackson
